Before cold-heading, the wire rods (Ø16mm max) are first drawn, on or off the production line, by means of drawers.
This cold calibration of the wire has the following advantages:
- dimensional accuracy
- regularity of the surface condition and tight tolerances
- mechanical characteristics increased by cold working.
