In the frame of its Continuous Improvement programme, BVS has implemented Lean manufacturing in its Sablé plant. It means performance improvement, through a systematic elimination of waste as:Overproduction, waiting, unnecessary handlings, excess inventory, over processing, defective parts.
Lean Manufacturing allows meeting the expectations of our customers in terms of quality, cost reduction and just in time delivery. It also integrates the safety and the improvement of the working conditions.
A first Lean Manufacturing workshop has been implemented in the heading machine shop. It was consisting to group a heading machine, a rolling machine and a washing machine. This cell production has allowed to reduce significantly cumulative lead time and stocks as well. A second Lean Manufacturing workshop has been put in place at the sorting and packaging shop.
